Xiaomi just released its first convertible 2-in-1 laptop, the Xiaomi Book S 12.4 with the Mi Smart Band 7 in Europe. This new laptop is expected to be Xiaomi’s challenger to Microsoft Surface Pro X. This tablet features a 12.4 screen with an optional keyboard that can turn it into a laptop-like device. The Book S is now officially available in Europe with a Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 chipset, Windows 11, stylus support, and more. Let’s explore what it has to offer.

Xiaomi Book S: Specs and Features
Depending on your needs, the Book S can be used in tablet or laptop mode. The Book S has a 12.4-inch display that supports 2560×1600 resolution, 16:10 aspect ratio, 500 nits of brightness, and a 60Hz refresh rate. With Corning Gorilla Glass 5, the display is totally durable. As we’ve already discussed, there’s support for the Xiaomi Smart Pen too.
The laptop features the latest and fastest 7nm Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 chip and a whopping 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. There is a 38.08Whr battery installed, which can power the laptop for up to 13 hours of work on a single charge. The battery, in turn, supports a fast 65W charging capacity.
The Book S features a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. Beyond what was just said, the laptop comes with dual 2W stereo speakers, dual microphones, and more. It operates on Windows 11 and has the capability to detach its keyboard.
More specifically, Xiaomi has launched the Mi Smart Band 7 in China, the Electric Scooter 4 Pro in Europe, and the TV A2 Series.
Price and Availability
The Xiaomi Book S will cost €699 (~Rs 57,600) and be sold via its official channels in Europe. Book S 12.4 starts at €700 and can be pre-ordered beginning on June 30th with an initial 48-hour period during which the price is reduced to €600. What’s more, a 65W charger that normally costs €40 will be included for free for the first two days’ sale. It remains unclear if it will reach other markets, including India.
