Dimensity 900 Is Going To Debut With Oppo Reno 6 Series

Mediatek is going to expand their Dimensity series portfolio with the addition of DIMENSITY 900 which is going to launch soon. Its model number is MT6877. Mediatek already launched Dimensity 1200 and Dimensity 1100 this year. So, according to the name, it will be placed below Dimensity 1100 in terms of specification. Now, let’s see what this Mediatek Dimensity 5G SOC will pack.

Specifications:

Like recently launched Dimensity 1200 and Dimensity 1100 processors, this Dimensity 900 will be based on power-efficient 6nm architecture. As a result, this processor will literally be the most power-efficient chip in this price segment.

Architecture:

In terms of core configuration, it will sport a 1+3+4 core architecture. This tri-cluster structure is actually effective to distribute works. For cores, Dimensity 900 will most likely use 4 CORTEX A77 cores and 4 CORTEX A55 cores. This places the processor just above Dimensity 820 and just below Dimensity 1000+. In terms of frequency, the high-performance core will reach nearly 2.7 GHz speed but won’t cross the 3.0Ghz mark.

RAM, ROM, Display & Camera Support:

Dimensity 900 should support the latest dual or quad-channel LPDDR5 quality RAM and UFS 3.1 quality ROM. The maximum RAM capacity will be around 16GB.

Like other Dimensity SOC, this processor will sport an FHD+ display with a maximum refresh rate of up to 144Hz. As a result, this processor will become a gaming beast in the mid-range price segment. In terms of maximum camera support, it will have support for a 200MP single-camera setup.

Benchmark Score:

It’s so early to tell the actual benchmark score of Dimensity 900. But according to some leaks, this new SOC scored 4,80,000 in ANTUTU version 8. This score is significantly higher than Snapdragon 768g which scored 440,000 in ANTUTU V8. It is also higher than Dimensity 820 which scored 450,000. But it is lower than Snapdragon 780G because Snapdragon 780G uses Cortex A78 cores. That’s it is said that this new Dimensity processor will get Cortex A77 cores. Otherwise, the score would be higher.

Dimensity 900 Phones:

According to leaks, this processor will first appear in Oppo Reno 6 series which will launch in MAY. That means we won’t have to wait much longer to get more information about this chip.
