In the gaming phone market, few are on par with Asus’ ROG Phone series. By 2022, we expect the Asus ROG Phone 6 to top the competition once again. Here’s a breakdown of all the credible rumors related to the possible ROG Phone series that could release in 2022. Official ASUS videos show the use of the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, capable of a maximum speed of 3.2 GHz, a display that can refresh at 165 Hz, and an efficient cooling system with an enlarged evaporation chamber.
So what can you expect from this phone? Let’s take a look at the price, features, and specifications.
What kinds of specs and features does the Asus ROG Phone 6 have?
Asus has done an especially good job of providing a gamer design aesthetic to their gaming phones. Asus gaming phones are the ultimate gamer gear, the aesthetic says it all. It is our prediction that nothing will change for the better this year. We do not expect that to change this year. Further, these devices have the best possible specifications of any devices in the industry, and these don’t appear to be going to change.
Design:
It is likely that the ROG Phone 6 will have the same design elements as last year’s model. From TENAA, the screen size will be 6.78 inches, the resolution is Full HD+ with165Hz OLED Samsung Display, and a fingerprint scanner will be integrated into the screen area.
Specs and features:
It is not disputed that the Asus ROG Phone 6 will come with the Snapdragon 8 Plus as its processor. This would be the first gaming phone with that particular chip. Either way, the phone should have a robust processor that keeps it from heating up as easily as some previous models with the standard Snapdragon 8, Gen 1.
If we use what we know about the specs on the ROG Phone 6, we can assume Asus won’t downgrade anything on the newer version. It’s also worth mentioning that, from the given specifications, we can expect a 6,000mAh battery, up to 512GB of internal storage, up to 18GB of RAM, and Wi-Fi 6E connectivity. In accordance with a recent regulatory filing, the ROG Phone 6 is predicted to also feature the same wired charging speed as the previous generation, at 65W.
Camera:
There will be a 12-megapixel selfie camera at the front, as well as a 64-megapixel sensor in the triple rear camera.
When will the Asus ROG Phone 6 release date be?
Asus on June 1, 2022, have both confirmed the name of the ROG Phone 6 and announced its release date, July 5, 2022, at 8:00 AM ET. Above is a screenshot of the countdown timer from the website of the company’s new mini-site, ROG Phone 6.
We must keep in mind that July 5 will be a day for a formal announcement. They probably won’t start actually selling the phone to Asian customers for a few weeks or even months. Furthermore, North American buyers will probably need to wait even longer because Asus always spreads out its releases and North America typically gets the phone months after the initial launch. What we want to see in Asus ROG Phone 6:
Although we do hope to see more from Asus with the Asus ROG Phone 6, we certainly would love to see Asus keep on providing the excellent sound, long battery life, and gaming software they always do. In that case, we would like to see some improvements such as a lower price and maybe water resistance in the next phone. That’s what we want to see in the upcoming ROG Phone 6.
