Samsung may soon offer customers a second low-cost 5G smartphone, this one running a Qualcomm chipset. The Samsung Galaxy A23 5G recently surfaced on Geekbench, and assuming the entry is legitimate, the Samsung device will go on sale in the United States powered by the Snapdragon 695 SoC.
The Samsung SM-A236U, so far the phone seems to be the US version. We can also expect the European version, at least according to initial reports from May.
So what can you expect from this phone? Let’s take a look at the features and specifications.
Samsung Galaxy A23 5G Specifications
The Galaxy A23 was up-to-date, including a newer and more refined camera lens with a 50MP camera, the latest iteration of Samsung’s One UI 4.1 system, and a large 5,000mAh battery. On the other hand, the audience for this might not have been 5G network providers and those interested in value for money. However, Samsung A23 fans may be in luck: Samsung may update the handset with a new mobile-data model.
Though this phone hasn’t been announced yet, it will be powered by Qualcomm’s new budget 5G chipset, which will include an Adreno 619 GPU and 6+2 CPU cores.
According to GSM Arena, the SD 695 is an upgraded version of the SD 690 chip with mmWave 5G capability. The GPU will be 30% faster and the CPU will be 15% faster. If included in the device, the mmWave connectivity will probably only be available in the US.

It runs Android 12, too, and, with its 4GB of RAM, should be as expensive as the original A23.
Other details about the Samsung Galaxy A23 5G are unknown, but it will have some similarities to the 4G model. The smartphone offers a 90Hz 6.6 LCD (FHD+), as well as a quad-camera on the back with a 50MP main camera, 5MP ultra-wide camera, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth cameras, and an 8MP selfie camera. The 5,000mAh battery has a fast-charging rate of 25W.

It’s likely that Samsung Galaxy A23 5G will have similar or the same specifications or at least have the option for upgraded models, such as an 8MP sensor on the ultra-wide cam.
