Sony has unveiled Inzone M3 and Inzone M9, which have high refresh rate panels. The specs for the Sony Inzone M3 and Inzone M9 have been leaked, so I think it’s time for an unveiling. At long last, here’s something that matches up well with PlayStation 5. 27-inch monitors such as the Inzone M3 and Inzone M9 both support DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1. Let’s take a look at the features and specifications.

Sony InZone gaming monitors are an ideal option for PS5 owners

Sony introduced the Inzone M3 and Inzone M9, two gaming monitors paying homage to the PlayStation 5. Although both are 27 inches with a 400 nit brightness, the Inzone M3 is a cheaper alternative to the Inzone M9. Consequently, the Inzone M3 has a lower resolution but faster panel than the Inzone M9.

InZone M3

Though the Inzone M3 outputs at up to 1080p and supports modern features like Variable Refresh Rate (HDMI VRR), the TV may only take half an hour to show screen images in both Landscape and Portrait modes. In other words, the Inzone M3 outputs at up to 240Hz and it can go as low as 24Hz. What is more, Sony included Adaptive-Sync (VESA DP) and NVIDIA G-SYNC to minimize image tearing. The Inzone M3 comes with DisplayHDR 400 certification and 1 ms response times, along with twin 2 W speakers.

By contrast, the Inzone M9 has a 3,840 x 2,160-pixel native resolution and a 144 Hz refresh rate with a peak brightness of 600 nits. To our knowledge, it is important to note that the Inzone M9 can only output 144 Hz via DisplayPort, but its HDMI ports are limited to 120 Hz. In other words, the output from both of the video inputs can function as low as 24 frames per second. Along with the other 1 ms response time and 2 W speakers, it comes with DisplayHDR 600 certification instead of DisplayHDR 400.

Sony Xperia 1 IV Launched Globally at Great Price

Price

In both the UK and Eurozone, the Sony Inzone M9 is already available to pre-order for £999 and €1,099 respectively. Sony has not yet confirmed the Inzone M3’s pricing, but TFT Central claims that the monitor is listed for €699 in Italy. We would therefore expect the Inzone M3 to reach the UK eventually for about £599.

It was worth the price?

Here’s the big question: Are these monitors worth the price? Sure, it’s awesome to have access to all of the PS5’s features in a smaller form factor. Nevertheless, you can purchase an LG C1 OLED TV for sale now on Amazon at a cheaper price than the Sony M9 – that totally wrecks Sony’s InZone line. From what I can tell, most choices are over 40 inches, though.
