Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi has launched its first tablet in India. comes months after Xiaomi introduced the Xiaomi Pad 5. The Redmi Pad competes against a bunch of tablets priced under Rs 20,000 in India. These include the Realme Pad, OPPO Pad Air, Moto Tab G62, etc.
The Redmi Pad launched in three storage options. The tablet sports a flat frame design and has an all-metal body. The back panel and the frame are made of aluminium. Let’s take a look at the details of Redmi Pad.
Redmi Pad 5: Price and Availability.
The Redmi Pad has a three storage options – base model comes in 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, 4GB of Ram with 128GB of storage and the higher variant comes with 6GB of Ram and 128GB of storage. It comes in three colour options – Graphite Grey, Mint Green and Moonlight Silver.
The Base variant is priced at Rs 14,999, the 4GB + 128GB Variant costs Rs 17,999 and 6GB + 128GB variant is Priced at Rs 19,999. The tablet will be available across Mi.com, Mi Home, Flipkart, and retail outlets starting from October 5th, 2022 at 12 PM IST. The 6GB + 128GB Mint Green model will be available exclusively on Mi.com from October 5th at 10 AM IST.
As a part of the introductory offer, the Redmi Pad will be available at Rs 12,999, Rs 14,999 and Rs 16,999, respectively. Additionally, there is a 10 percent bank discount through Bank of Baroda exclusively on mi.com from October 5th to 9th.
Redmi Pad specifications.
The Redmi Pad sports a 10.61-inch 2K 10-bit LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate, 70 percent NTSC colour gamut, in-built SGS eye protection, TUV Rheinland certification, and 400nits brightness.
The tablet is powered by MediaTek Helio G99 SoC. It is runs Android 12-based MIUI 13 out of the box. Redmi has also promised two major Android updates and three years of security patches support for its tablet.
It measures 250.5×158.1×7.1mm, 7.05mm thick and weighs about 465 grams. The 3.5mm headphone jack is missing. There is an 8000mAh battery under the hood. The tablet supports 18W fast charging but users will get a 22.5W charging brick in the box.
Moving to The optics, The pad has an 8MP rear camera that can record videos in FHD resolution. There is an 8MP sensor with a 105-degree field-of-view (for 4GB/6GB models) FocusFrame on the front for video chats. The company is offering 2 months of free YouTube Premium subscription.
Connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.3, dual-band Wi-Fi, and a USB Type-C port. The tablet is equipped with quad speakers, and Dolby Atmos.
