Xiaomi is working on a new foldable smartphone as it recently filed a patent for a flip phone. The phone’s folding mechanism appears to be quite similar to Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3. There are no official announcement regarding a folding phone from Xiaomi’s side.
So, lets look into the details than we got about this folding phone.
Design
This smartphone appears to have a clamshell form factor and features a tiny rectangular display on the outside. Its thickness is 15.9 mm when folded and it is 7.4 mm when unfolded with a weight of 179 grams. Z Flip 3 is slightly thinner.
Display
It is expected to feature a 6.81″ FHD+ 120 Hz refresh rate AMOLED Internal display and 1.9″ HD AMOLED External display. So, these display specifications appear similar to Z Flip 3.
Processor
It is expected to feature Qualcomm SM8450 Snapdragon 8 Gen1 (4 nm) which is an octa core processor with a clockrate of 1800 – 2995 MHz and Adreno 730 GPU. So, it is expected to feature a newer processor when compared Z Flip 3’s Snapdragon 888 processor.
Camera
Xiaomi flip smartphone features a 50MP+13MP Rear camera setup with a 20MP Dual Front camera setup.
Storage and RAM
The phone will feature few storage variants: UFS 3.1 128GB/256GB storage and LPDDR5 8GB/12GB RAM. So, these storage options are similar to Z Flip 3.
Battery and Charging
Xiaomi’s flip phone is expected to feature a 3800 mAh battery. Moreover, it will feature 67W fast charging with USB C. So, these battery and charging specifications are better than Z Flip 3.
Launch and Conclusion
Xiaomi’s flip smartphone can launch this year at a competitive price range to compete with the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip series phones. Other details of the phones are still unknown.
