Motorola is expected to announce the launch of its latest flagship smartphone, the Motorola Edge 40 Pro, sometime next month. The device is likely to be a rebadged version of the Moto X40 5G that was launched in China late last year.
Leaked renders of the global variant suggest that Motorola Edge 40 Pro will come in two color options: black and blue. The phone will have a small square-shaped block on the back for the triple-camera setup and an LED flash, with a 50MP primary camera sensor, similar to the X40 5G.

Motorola Edge 40 pro display and design :
On the front, Motorola Edge 40 pro will feature a curved display with a hole-punch cutout at the top center and thin top and bottom bezels. The phone is expected to have a 6.67-inch OLED display with a Full HD+ resolution, a 165Hz refresh rate, and a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.
The phone will weigh about 197 grams and measure 161.3 x 73.9 x 8.5mm.
Security and connectivity :
The phone’s power and volume buttons will be located on the right edge, and it will have an in-display fingerprint scanner. It will also have stereo speakers and a USB Type-C port, but no 3.5mm headphone jack. It will likely run Android 13-based MyUX 13 out of the box.
Motorola Edge 40 Pro will be launched with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB/512GB of internal storage, similar to the Chinese version’s LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 4.0 storage.
Processor and performance :
According to leaked design renders and information from tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore, Motorola Edge 40 Pro will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and will have a similar design to the X40 5G.
Snapdragon 8 gen 2 is an octa-core processor with 4 nm fabrication and it supports 3 x Cortex A510 @ 2 GHz, 2 x Cortex A710 @ 2.8 GHz, 2 x Cortex A715 @ 2.8 GHz, and a prime Cortex X3 @ 3.2 GHz.
Thus Chipset has a Total AnTuTu score worth 1227590, GeekBench single and multi-core score worth 1474 and 4933 respectively and Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 even have a 3d Mark score of 13243.
With Adreno 740 as a GPU, the processor supports LPDDR4X memory type @ 8.4 GHz and hexagon NPU which does support UFS 3.1 / UFS 4.0. you will be able to play high-end games like Genshin impact, Apex legends, and many more @ High or Ultra settings.
Camera and Battery :
It will also sport a triple-camera setup on the back, including a 50MP primary shooter with OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 12MP portrait lens with 2x optical zoom. The front camera will have a 60MP sensor.
Motorola Edge 40 pro will be powered by a 4600mAh battery and will support 125W fast charging and 15W wireless charging.
Launch date and Price :
The 12GB + 256GB variant of the Motorola Edge 40 Pro is expected to have a launch price of EUR 850 (approximately Rs 75,300). Motorola may announce the launch details of the Edge 40 Pro at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2023.
