Qualcomm has recently launched its latest Snapdragon 782G SoC (System on Chip) which promises to provide robust and efficient performance for mid-range smartphones. The Snapdragon 782G is a successor to the Snapdragon 778G and comes with a code name SM7325-AF. This chipset is manufactured using the 6nm TSMC process and boasts a number of advanced features that are designed to enhance the overall user experience.
Snapdragon 782G
CPU, GPU, & Display
The CPU of Snapdragon 782G includes one high-performance Cortex-A78 core clocked at 2.7GHz, three more Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.2GHz, and four Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.9GHz. This configuration of the CPU is designed to provide a balance between power and efficiency. The chipset also features a 64-bit architecture which ensures compatibility with modern operating systems and software.
The Adreno 642L GPU provides graphical performance and supports high-end games and applications. The Snapdragon 782G also supports displays with up to 144Hz refresh rate, which ensures a smooth and lag-free experience while gaming or scrolling. The chipset also includes Triple 14-bit Spectra ISPs that are capable of handling camera sensors up to 200MP and 4K HDR video recording.
Camera and Charging
The Snapdragon 782G supports LPDDR5 RAM up to 16GB @ 3200 MHz and UFS 3.1 storage, which provides faster data transfer and quicker app loading times. The chipset can encode and decode 4K 30fps 10-bit H.265, HDR10+, HDR10, HLG, and can also record 720p 240fps slow-motion videos. Additionally, the chipset supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ technology which enables fast charging.
Connectivity
The Snapdragon X53 5G Modem integrated into the chipset is capable of achieving up to 3.7 Gbps of download speed and up to 1.6 Gbps of upload speed. The chipset also supports Wi-Fi 6/6E and Bluetooth 5.2. The USB version supported is 3.1 with USB Type-C support, which ensures faster data transfer rates and quick charging.

Benchmark Tests
The iQOO Z7 is the first smartphone powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 782G SoC. We can expect to see more smartphones featuring this processor in the coming months. The Snapdragon 782G has been tested on several benchmarking platforms, and it has shown impressive results. It has been benchmarked against several other mobile processors in different categories.
3D Mark Wild Life Unlimited test
- The Snapdragon 782G scored 2897, which is less than the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 score of 3146, but higher than the Snapdragon 778G and 778G+ with scores of 2654 and 2482, respectively.
Moving on to the Geekbench tests,
Geekbench 6
- The Snapdragon 782G scored 1128 points in the single-core test and 3028 points in the multi-core test.
- For comparison, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 scored 1031 points in the single-core test and 2801 points in the multi-core test.
Geekbench 5
- The Snapdragon 782G scored 876 points in the single-core test and 2956 points in the multi-core test.
- Comparatively, Snapdragon 778G+ scored 818 points in the single-core test and 2960 points in the multi-core test, while the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 scored 800 points in the single-core test and 2873 points in the multi-core test.
AnTuTu benchmark
- The Snapdragon 782G scored 5,95,992 points. In comparison, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 scored 5,78,146 points, the Snapdragon 778G scored 5,38,394 points, and the Snapdragon 778G+ scored 578,146 points.
Benchmark Verdict
The Snapdragon 782G does not perform as well as the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 in some tests, it performs better than the Snapdragon 778G and 778G+ in most categories.
