Apple 2022 launch event Highlights
As we were aware that Apple has its first launch event of 2022 on 7 March 2022. Apple has introduced many new products in the launch event titled ‘Peek Performance‘. So, let’s begin to know about the products Apple has launched.
iPhone 13: New colors
At the early timing of the event, the CEO introduced the green colour variant of iPhone 13 followed by the Alpine green colour for the upper iPhone 13 Pro model. Eventually, the fifth Gen iPad Air will go live with the new purple colour Variant.
iPhone SE 2022
The company introduced the successor towards the iPhone SE model having named iPhone SE 2022. It brings the old model with 5G connectivity & an A15 Bionic chipset from the iPhone 13 Series. Eventually, you will get upgrades on battery( 1900MAh) giving up to 3 hours more uses.
You will get a 4.7inch Retina panel at HD+ resolution. Eventually, you will get the new ISP on its 12MP back sensor with a 7MP AI selfie camera. You will get touch ID & IP67 ratings on the phone. It runs the latest iOS 15 out of the box.
While the phone comes with a 64GB base variant ( other options include 128GB/256GB) at ₹33,000 for the US markets. The Indian price begins from ₹43,000. Eventually, the device is available from 11th March in online stores & featured in Midnight, Starlight & Red colour options.
Apple M1 Ultra
Last year, Apple announced the M1 chips in its Macbook. Now, Apple says the time for the peak performance. The new Apple M1 Ultra chip introduced the 20- cores CPU i.e. 16 high-performance cores & 4 battery-saving cores. It works with 5nm UltraFusion architecture and peaks up to 800 GB/s memory bandwidth.
At the same time, you will get 114 Billion transistors with 32-core Neural engine support for the ultimate decode/encode speed. Eventually, there’s a 64-core GPU paired with the chip for gaming performance. The company also claims that this chip is up to 8 times faster than the last year’s M1 chip.
Mac Studio & Studio Display
At the event, Apple also introduced the Apple Mac Studio with M1 Max & M1 ultra chip variants. It is a compact CPU box with an innovative thermal design. It brings more top-notch performance than any other mac available in the market.
The Mac Studio at the back features four Thunderbolt 4 ports, a 10 Gigabit Ethernet port, 2 USB Type-A ports, an HDMI port, as well as a headphone jack. On the front, the M1 Ultra variant features two Thunderbolt 4 ports, while M1 Pro variants feature two USB Type-C ports on the front. There is an SDXC card slot also on board, apart from Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5 connectivity. Targeting the compact designs, the Apple M1 ultra chip is capable of doing 18 streams of 8K ProRes 422 video, which no other computer in the world can do.
Although, the Mac Studio with 32GB Ram with 512GB SSD & Apple M1 Max chipset cost up to ₹1,89,600 in India. While the Apple M1 ultra chip with 64GB RAM & 1TB SSD cost up to ₹3,89,900. Although, the sale for this Mac studio will go live from 11 March.
Studio Display
Talking about the new studio display introduced by the company. There’s a 27 inch 5K retina display with up to 600nits peak brightness rate. It delivers true tone colours having an Apple 13 chip inside.
Although, there are a 12MP Ultra wide-angle camera & stereo speakers with spatial sound support. There’s a Thunderbolt V4 pin accompanied by 3 USB Type-C ports with 96W power delivery capability. You will also get the new Black colour magic Keyboard, Mouse & Many accessories at the stage at separate prices.
The Studio Display pricing starts from ₹1.60 lacs for the standard glass option. While the nano texture glass costs up to ₹1.90 lacs. Eventually, you have two options for the stand. Although, it comes with a tilt-adjustable mount adaptor. While you have to pay an extra ₹40,000 for the height+ tilt-adjustable mount stand. You can order it from now but will be shipped in two weeks.
iPad Air 5th Gen
With the launch of all the above products, Apple also introduced the new Gen iPad Air. The iPad Air 5th gen will feature the new M1 chip. While the other specs remain the same.
The iPad Air 5th gen prices start from ₹55K for the WiFi-only 64GB variant. While the 256GB variant costs up to ₹68,900. For the Wi-Fi + Cellular model, you will get the 64GB variant for 68K & 256GB to cost up to ₹82,900.
