Finally, after two long years, Redmi has finally launched the successor in the Redmi Budget series. They introduced the Redmi 10A as ‘Desh Ka Smartphone in India with a starting price of ₹8,499.

So, we are comparing this device to its predecessor Redmi 9A which was launched in 2020 but still contains many similarities to the new one with the price of ₹7,999 for a 3GB Variant. So, it’s quite interesting to know whether should we upgrade from it to a new one or not.

Although, both devices with many similarities likewise in Display, battery and the processor. Here’s the comparison.

Display & Build

Although, these phones with the same sized 6.53inch HD+ panel. Eventually, you will get a 60hz refresh rate and 400 nits brightness. There are also many similarities likewise in build quality i.e. 9mm thickness & 195G weight. While you will get the large square shape camera housing in Redmi 10A but Redmi 9A has the vertical camera array.

So, we consider the comparison to be Tie on the Display & Build Section.

The camera on both phones is also the same. There is a 13MP rear camera snapper and a 5MP selfie snapper. You will get the recording option up to 1080P at 30 FPS.

Similarly, Redmi 10A uses the same setup as Redmi 9A. You will get the Helio G25 Chipset on 12nm architecture in both devices. While the 9A has 2GB/3GB RAM with 32GB emmc 5.1 storage. The 10A does provides the 3GB/4GB RAM option with 32G/64GB emmc 5.1 storage.

UI & COMMS

Although, the Redmi 10A has the MIUI 12.5 based on the Android 11 operating system with an Android 12 OS upgrade available. The 9A was launched with Android 10 and currently running on Android 11.

Meanwhile, you will get a Fingerprint scanner in Redmi 10A but 9A lacks it. Eventually, there’s 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS available on both phones.

The Redmi 10A is available in Charcoal Black, Sea Blue, and Slate Grey Colors. Similar it has the following variants:

So, we get that the Redmi 10A only advances the two years old device in terms of fingerprint scanner & Update cycle. So, it doesn’t seem can also check the latest launched Infinix Hot 11 2022 too.
