The Mediatek dimensity 8200 is supposed to be a near flagship chipset at a budget price. Having many of the features from its flagship brother Dimensity 9000series, it is set to rival the likes of Snapdragon 870, 888+ and the upcoming Snapdragon 7 gen 2
Dimensity 8200 core composition
It is rumored to be based on TSMC’s latest 3nm manufacturing process, but it could also be based on their 4nm+ process.
It will have an Octa-core config (1-3-4) with the latest Arm MALI-G715 GPU
It is supposed to have a super core called Cortex X2 prime at a peak of 3.1GHZ which is found on flagship chipsets and dimensity 9000 series. Support for Quad channel Lpddr5 and UFS 3.1 storage
Benchmarks and scores
The Antutu benchmark score of MediaTek Dimensity 8200 is around 942855. Its rank and results are higher than its competitors, for example, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus, which received 861733 marks in this test.
So we can easily say this chipset will be a price to performance king.
Launch date and expected Phones
The launch of dimensity 8200 is slated to be in December this year.
It is expected to be launched with Xiaomi Redmi K60, IQOO neo 7 SE, and Poco F5 5G all expected to be launched end of this year or early next year.
