The POCO C50 is the company’s first smartphone in the year 2023. This smartphone belongs to the budget category, and it has been launched at a price of less than Rs. 7,000. The smartphone features entry-level specs and features with Android 12 Go Edition Software out of the box.
POCO C50
Specifications
POCO has launched its latest smartphone, the C50, in India. The device features a 6.52″ HD+ 60Hz IPS LCD display with a 120Hz touch sampling rate and 400 nits of brightness. It is powered by a MediaTek Helio A22 CPU and an IMG PowerVR GE-class GPU.
In terms of cameras, the C50 has a 5MP front camera and a dual rear camera setup consisting of an 8MP main camera and a 2MP macro camera. Both cameras are capable of recording video at 1080p resolution and 30 frames per second.
The C50 comes with 2/3GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 32GB of eMMC storage, which can be expanded up to 512GB via a microSD card. It is equipped with a large 5,000mAh battery that supports 10W charging. The device runs on Android 12 Go Edition and has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner for added security.
Other notable features of the POCO C50 include a 3.5mm headphone jack, a leather texture back, a single speaker at the top of the device, Bluetooth v5.0, and a micro-USB charging port. The device is 9.09mm thick and weighs 192 grams.
Price and Color Options
The POCO C50 is available in two color options: Royal Blue and Country Green. It is priced at ₹6,499 ($80) for the 2GB+32GB variant and ₹7,299 ($90) for the 3GB+32GB variant.
Conclusion
In 2023, POCO will launch a capable smartphone for its price. However, this smartphone does not have a Micro-USB port. As a tech enthusiast, I do not believe that selecting this port is a smart option for a brand. Overall, the device is excellent, and it’s a rebranded Redmi A1+ but at a lower price.
