The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 is one of the most anticipated foldable phones expected to be released in August or September of 2023. Leaks and rumors have given us a glimpse of what the phone will look like and what features it will have.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 design:
The most recent leak suggests that the phone will have a larger cover display that is almost a square screen, making it easier to interact with notifications, quick settings, and widgets without opening the phone.
The phone’s sides now seem flat, and it features rounded corners, and thanks to the rumored waterdrop-shaped hinge, the phone is expected to fold completely flat, with no gap between the two halves of the device.
With the same processor as in S23 Z Flip 5 is esteemed to be equipped with Snapdragon 8 gen 2, and longer battery life. However, the Galaxy Z Flip line does lack some features that are standard on Samsung’s other high-end phones.
For instance, it does not have zoom cameras, and the cameras it does have are not as great as the ones on Samsung’s flagship phones.
Despite the lack of certain features, the Galaxy Z Flip line has a lot of high-end features, such as the best and latest Snapdragon processor and high refresh rate displays, making them flagship adjacent.
However, there are a couple of upgrades that users would like to see on the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 when it launches in late 2023. One of the most significant upgrades users would like to see is a design that does not leave any gap when the phone is folded shut.
Samsung may have a huge lead in the foldable phone category, but it falls behind the competition in this area. The gap between the two halves of the screen on all Galaxy Z Flip (and Z Fold) smartphones has been an issue since the first Galaxy Fold came along.
Foldables do not have proper glass on the display, and the screens are basically just plastic, which makes them fragile in general.
There are rumors indicating that Samsung is considering utilizing a hinge design comparable to what is used by Chinese manufacturers in its forthcoming foldable gadgets.
If implemented, this fresh hinge could enable the device to be completely shut, and could also reduce the crease visible on the screen.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 battery :
Another upgrade that users would like to see on the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 is a longer battery life, at least as good as the Galaxy S23’s battery life. Samsung’s first three Galaxy Z Flip smartphones featured tiny 3,300 mAh batteries.
It was with last year’s Galaxy Z Flip 3 that the battery life improved significantly, but it is still not as good as Samsung’s flagship phones.
Longer battery life on the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 would be a significant improvement, making it more dependable for users who rely on their phones for long periods without charging.
Specifications via ice universe :
Ice universe, a popular leaker on Twitter, has recently revealed some interesting specifications about Samsung’s upcoming Fold5 and Flip5 devices.
According to the tweets, both devices will adopt water droplet hinges, making them more durable and waterproof with an IPX8 level of protection.
The Fold5 will have a size difference of only 0.2mm compared to its predecessor, but after folding, it becomes thinner with a reduced thickness of 13.x mm.

The device will weigh 254g, which is slightly heavier than the Fold4. The outer screen of Fold5 remains at 6.2 inches.
Samsung Galaxy z flip 5, on the other hand, will have an almost square outer screen that measures 3.4 inches, occupying most of the device’s area. Z flip 5 is expected to have a slimmer internal width.
This device will be equipped with Snapdragon 8 gen 2
