1) Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro

Samsung’s Galaxy Buds Pro is the best true wireless earbuds that the company has made yet. For their 9,899 prices, you get a comfortable fit, effective active noise cancellation, and good, punchy sound quality. The new Galaxy Buds Pro looks similar to the predecessor Galaxy Buds+, but the case is actually closer to the one from the Galaxy Buds Live – squarish with a hinge on one side. The Buds Pro is sold in three Phantom colors – Silver, Violet, Black – and all of them look spectacular.

Noise-free calls with three built-in microphones and the voice pickup unit. And 360 Audio for theater-like multichannel sound. Dolby HeadTracking support. And it features IPX7 Water Resistance. Auto Switch to conveniently switch between Galaxy devices.

2-way speakers with sound by AKG for balanced sound and wide frequency response. 11mm woofer for full bass, 6.5mm tweeter with low distortion for treble.

If you’re an iPhone user and have been toying with the idea of going true wireless with your earbuds, then the Apple AirPods Pro is a great choice. The new noise-canceling feature is neat and useful, and the overall improvements to sound and design couldn’t be more welcome – though, they are quite pricey.

The Apple AirPods Pro is great for commuting. These in-ears have a small and lightweight design, which makes it easy to take them with you on the go. They have an ANC system that can block out the low rumble of bus and plane engines. Unfortunately, their continuous playback time of over five hours may not be enough for long days on the road, although their carrying case holds roughly five extra charges if you need it. The AirPods Pro is water-resistant and has an IPX4 rating to show for it. As far as the charging case goes, it’s relatively unchanged.

Battery life is rated at 4.5 hours for noise cancellation and transparency modes. If you keep both off, you get the same five hours as regular AirPods. These numbers are respectable but no longer class-leading; Sony’s noise-canceling WH-1000X M3 earbuds can last for eight hours of straight listening. As always, the AirPods case contains enough juice for 24 hours of overall battery time.

3) Sony wf-1000xm4

The WF-1000XM4 are one of the most feature-packed, user-friendly, and sonically gifted pair of wireless earbuds we’ve tested.

The earpieces of the Sony WF-1000XM4 have 6mm dynamic drivers which support a frequency response range of 20-40,000Hz and streaming bitrate of up to 990kbps with the LDAC codec (20-20,000Hz frequency range with other codecs).

The noise-canceling is impressive, right at the top of the class. It’s definitely improved from the XM3 and it’s right there with that of the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds, which cost the same as these and were previously best in class for true-wireless noise canceling. Sony says the WF-1000XM4 has a new custom chipset called the V1 that processes both sound and noise-canceling and it appears to have made a significant difference, particularly for noise canceling. The WF-1000XM4 is equipped with Bluetooth 5.2 and also has supported the Sony WF-1000XM4 earpieces are rated IPX4 for water resistance.

The WF-1000XM4 has a claimed battery life of up to 8 hours with ANC on for audio playback. But when I tested with the more demanding LDAC set to 990kbps, I was able to get only 6 hours of continuous playback. That’s not too bad compared to other products on the market but a fair bit off from Sony’s claim.

4) Bose QuietComfort

The hunt for the perfect noise-canceling earbuds seems never-ending. The Apple AirPods Pro is the obvious choice for iPhone owners, but Bose hopes you’ll consider the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds too. Whether you’re a die-hard Apple fan or devoted Android user, these earbuds are worth your while. Bose believes its noise-canceling earphones are nothing short of genius, and the price reflects that. Let’s find out if you agree.

Let’s start with noise canceling. Bose was the gold standard for active noise cancellation ANC isn’t the only other hallmark the QuietComfort Earbuds shares with the Bose 700. The new Bose QuietComfort Earbuds are one of the best true wireless ‘buds we’ve tested, with what is arguably the best noise-canceling performance from any device in this class.

Like the Sony WF-1000XM3, the Bose QC ‘Buds offer up to six hours of listening time. That may not seem like much, but it should be noted that true wireless headphones that offer more don’t feature ANC. The case, however, is disappointing, with just 12 hours of extra battery life available, although it does have a quick charge feature which will see you get two hours of listening time with a 15-minute stint on the cradles. That’s less than what the Sony competition offers – up to 90 minutes of playback after a 10-minute quick charge.

5) OnePlus Buds Z2

OnePlus introduces the Buds Z2, a successor to the brand’s OnePlus Buds Z. For the most part, the design and overall look of the buds is the same as the Buds Z, but with overall enhancements throughout the product including larger drivers and improved battery life. These new Buds are rated for up to 38 hours of battery life in the best-case scenario.

The bodies of the Buds Z2 are made entirely of glossy plastic and offer IP55 water resistance (in addition to nano-coating) while the charging case is rated for IPX4.

There’s a battery LED indicator at the front. Around the back, there’s a pairing button and a USB-C charging port.

The OnePlus Buds Z2 punch above their price tag for the most part, but the overall sound quality falls into a classic budget-friendly trap. OnePlus leaned into the frequency response that we’ve come to expect on affordable options — plenty of bass and treble with not enough in the midrange. Enjoy up to 38 hours of music and quick fast charging of 10 minutes for 5 hours of playtime. Your winning advantage starts here with latency as low as 94ms, with Pro Gaming mode activated.
