Samsung has finally introduced the next-gen UFS 4.0 Storage worldwide. The company claims to take many desirable changes to this flagship Smartphone Storage series. Even though, the scores for reading/write speed are as high as double from UFS 3.1 storage which is available to many flagship devices available in the markets.

Significantly, this platform seems to be even faster than the NVMe SSD used in iPhones which we can expect very faster app openings and copy/write issues solved by this gen when using high Speed 5G data.

Samsung Semiconductor officially announced on Twitter that it may soon arrive on the market with its new UFS 4.0 storage which has also received JDEC® board of director approval.

UFS 4.0 arrives with the latest JDEC® standard with an upgraded design to the controller. It has made many key improvements to the current mobile storage solution which will give a huge improvement in efficiency & performance.

This storage segment has made the reading bandwidth up to 23.2Gbps which is almost double that of UFS 3.1 storage. Samsung Semiconductor group also confirm that this bandwidth will be very desirable to upcoming 5G technology & AR/VR based applications.

With the use of 7th gen V-NAND with propriety controlled under the hood, it can fortune up the speed of reading up to 4,200MB/S & writing speed up to 2,800MB/S. Eventually, there also be a power efficiency improvement of up to 46% compared to UFS 3.1 storage pattern which will be a 6MB data transfer for each sing Ma used.

At the last, the company has also said that this storage chip will be highly devastated to take Lee’s physical space. Although, the Samsung Semiconductor group said that it will use only 11mm x 13mm x 1mm and can store up to 1 terabyte of storage with that.

Release Date

With this specification listed in the official Twitter post, Samsung Semiconductor has also said to begin the Storage production in Q3 of 2022 at a mass scale. Meanwhile, we can expect this storage to power up many flagship devices which will debut at the last of 2022.
