Motorola Edge X30 vs Xiaomi 12X: Which is the best upcoming phone?

Motorola Edge X30 and Xiaomi 12X are two phones with decent specifications and both these phones are soon expected to launch in India. So, it would be a great idea to do a specifications comparision between these two devices.

Color and Design

Motorola Edge X30 comes in two color variants : White, Black. It comes with a glass back. It is 8.5 mm thick with a weight of 194 grams. Dimensions : 163.6 x 75.6 x 8.5 mm.

However, Xiaomi 12X comes in three color variants : Black, Blue, Pink. It is 8.2 mm thick with a weight of 176 grams. Dimensions : 152.7 x 69.9 x 8.2 mm.

Color of a phone is a subjective matter but Xiaomi 12X provides more color options and is slightly thinner and lighter.

Display

Moto X30 comes with 6.7″ FHD+ 144 Hz 10 bit OLED display with HDR10+ and comes with 87.6% Screen to Body ratio with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It has 700 nits display brightness.

While, Xiaomi 12X comes with 6.28″ FHD+ 120 Hz 12 bit OLED display with HDR10+, Dolby Vision and comes with 89.2% Screen to Body ratio with Gorilla Glass Victus protection. It has 1100 nits display brightness.

Motorola Edge X30 is slightly better than Xiaomi 12X in display department because of bigger display, higher refresh rate but Xiaomi 12X has higher brightness and 12 bit display.

Processor

Moto X30 comes with Qualcomm SM8450 Snapdragon 8 Gen1 (4 nm) which is an octa core processor with a clockrate of 1800 – 2995 MHz and Adreno 730 GPU.

While, Xiaomi 12X comes with Qualcomm SM8250-AC Snapdragon 870 5G (7 nm) which is an octa core processor with a clockrate of 2420 – 3200 MHz and Adreno 650 GPU.

Snapdragon 8 Gen1 is more powerful than Snapdragon 870 5G. So, in this department Moto X30 is better.

Camera

Motorola Edge X30’s camera setup : 50MP+50MP+2MP back camera setup, the main camera sensor is Omnivision’s OV50A 1/1.55 with 60MP front camera.

However, Xiaomi 12X’s camera setup : 50MP+13MP+5MP back camera setup, the main camera sensor is Sony IMX 766 1/1.56 with 32MP front camera.

Moto X30’s camera setup is better.

RAM and Storage

Both phones comes in 128GB 8GB RAM, 256GB 8GB RAM, 256GB 12GB RAM variants UFS 3.1 storage with no card slot.

Audio

Both phones come with stereo speakers and no 3.5 mm jack.

Battery and Charging

Motorola Edge X30 features a massive 5000 mAh battery with 68W fast charging, 100% in 35 min (advertised) and USB-C.

While, Xiaomi 12X features a massive 4500 mAh battery with 67W fast charging, 100% in 39 min (advertised) and USB-C.

So, in this department Motorola Edge X30 is the clear winner.

Other Features

Motorola Edge X30 features side mounted fingerprint scanner and Android 12, MYUI 3.0.

While, Xiaomi 12X features optical, under display fingerprint scanner and Android 12, MIUI 13.

Price

Motorola Edge X30’s expected starting price is around Rs. 37,990 while Xiaomi 12X’s expected starting price is around Rs. 37,590.

Winner and Conclusion

Both the phones are quite good in terms of specifications. However, Motorola Edge X30 is better than Xiaomi 12X in various departments like camera, battery, processor etc. So, Moto X30 is an overall better phone. The price of these phones can also be an deciding factor to declare the winner so we should look forward to the launch of these phones in India.
