Samsung is widely known for the popularity of the ‘S’ series around the world. The S21 ultra tops the list of premium phones. The company Samsung is going to announce the successor to the S21 series this year too. There are too many rumors about the upcoming Galaxy S22 series before its official launch.
In this post, I am going to tell you about all the leaks, rumors, and all about the S22 series.
Galaxy S22 series: Price and launching
In 2021, Samsung has launched its previous flagship in the last week of January. In 2022, There are rumors for the little delay and the series may announce on February 8. There is no info about its pricing but there is some expectation that Samsung will retain its price and launch the phone at the same price as the S21 series
- ₹69,999 for the base model S22
- The S22+ might cost ₹81,999
- The ultimate beast S22 Ultra will cost upto ₹1,05,999
Note- The Phone will launch with Android 12 based ONE UI 4.1.
Galaxy S22 series: Display and design
Galaxy S22
Starting with the base model, the leaks say the S22 design will be similar to the S21 launched this year. The rumors also claim the S22 will have a smaller display size of 6.06inches while compared to its predecessor S21 (6.2inch screen).
On the other hand, there would be no glass back on S22 similar to its predecessor. The expected dimension of the phone is 146 x 70.5 x 7.6mm.
Galaxy S22 plus
S22 plus is basically the toned-down version of the S22 Ultra. It will also retain the design of its predecessor S21 plus. The leaks tell the expected dimension of 157.4 x 75.8 x 7.6mm. Likewise S22, S22 Plus will reduce their display size from 6.7inches (S21 Plus) to 6.5inch.
Galaxy S22 Ultra
The top of the series: S22 Ultra might have been designed as a successor for Galaxy Note 20 ultra. According to the leaked Image of the S22 Ultra, It might have S pen support like S21 Ultra but with the integrated slot for the S pen. With all the leaks available, S22 Ultra quite looks like the successor of Note 20 Ultra, Sounds annoying.
Display panel
The Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus might feature a Full HD+ Dynamic AMOLED display together with a 120Hz refresh rate.
The S22 Ultra will come with a Quad HD+ curved Dynamic AMOLED LTPO panel together with a 120Hz refresh rate. The S22 ultra also has gorilla glass VICTUS protection. All the phones have a tiny punch-hole at the center.
All the models will have HDR 10+ 10 bit support along with Dolby Vision(Expected). Moreover, The brightness will go up to 1750nits peak brightness on S22+ and S22 Ultra variants. On the other hand, S22 will have 1300nits peak brightness.
Colors
The devices will come in Red, Green, Black, Pink Gold, White and the new leaked Bronze Color.
Galaxy S22 Series: Battery & Camera
Samsung has already reduced the display size in the S22 series. likely, the company is also reducing the battery size in S22 and S22 Plus.
- S22 will be powered by a 3,700 MAh of battery(4000mah in S21)
- There would be a 4500MAh battery in S22+ insted of 4800MAh used in S21+
- S22 Ultra will retain its 5000Mah battery beast.
Some rumors also say S22 Ultra and S22 plus will feature 45watts faster power delivery while S22 will stand out with its 25W charger. Furthermore, Samsung 25 watt wireless charging was also listed on FCC certification. So there is some expectation that S22 Ultra will have 25W wireless charge support too.
Camera
There was no change in the camera module on the S22 and S22 plus. But, there would be some change in camera hardware configuration. The primary camera of both phones will be Samsung GN5 50MP sensor. Now, this sensor has already outperformed the S21 ultra 108MP camera in some cases. There would be a wide-angle along with a telephoto camera in both of the phones. The selfie camera would be 10mp on both phones as found on S21.
For the S22 ultra’ camera setup, there are two rumors. Previous leaks say it will feature a 200MP ISOCELL sensor. But the latest leak says it will feature an improved 108MP image sensor. The camera setup includes a 12MP ultra-wide lens along with a Sony 10MP telephoto with 3x zoom and another 10MP periscope for 10x zoom. Some leaks also say it will have a massive 40MP selfie camera.
Galaxy S22 series: Processor & Ram
S22 series is Samsung’s flagship series. So, all will be equipped with the most powerful SoC.
The chip-set will differ with the region, the USA variant is coupled with SnapDragon 898 chipset moreover. While other regions including India will get Exynos 2200 Chipset.
Likewise, Exynos 2200 will take huge improvement over Exynos 2100 along with World First AMD GPU on a Smartphone.

- CPU: 1 x Cortex-X2 2.9GHz + 3 x 2.8GHz + 4 x 2.2GHz
- GPU: AMD GPU 1250MHz
RAM & Storage
The upcoming S22 series will use a combination of the latest LPDDR5X RAM (4800MHz) with UFS 3.1 Storage.
The S22 and S22+ variants include 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB.
TheS22 Ultra variants include 12GB/128GB, 12GB/256GB, and 16GB/512GB.
Other features
All devices will feature Samsung Ultrasonic In-display fingerprint. It will have dual speakers along with Dolby Atmos. Other key features include its USB Type-C 3.0 port. Unfortunately, there won’t be a 3.5mm jack port or an SD card slot.
Galaxy S22 series: Conclusion
The upcoming flagship will be up to the mark, of course. But, Samsung could be better at the price point.
- The MI has already announced its Xiaomi 11i together with 120W hyper charge. But the Samsung got stuck with its 45W charger( 25W for S22). They need to improve its charging technology for its flagship series.
- The other company already provided a 48MP wide camera which can take amazing widecam photos. But even the upcoming ultra variant will come with a 12MP wide sensor Which is quite annoying.
- When considering the battery, S22& S22+ have a smaller battery even comparing with its predecessor
