Poco X3 Pro vs Poco X4 Pro: Does it worth upgrading?

Poco has officially launched the Poco X4 Pro 5G in India. While the device gets a similar price to its predecessor Poco X3 Pro.  So, we are comparing these phones to provide an honest opinion regarding these devices.

Build & Design

• The all-new Poco X4 Pro gets the laser pattern on its glass back with POCO Branding. It has around 205G weight and is 8.1mm thicker. Meanwhile, you get IP 53 ratings with Gorilla Glass V for protection.
• Last Year poco X4 Pro gets a plastic panel at the back. Meanwhile, it weighs around 215G and has a 9.1mm thickness. It also gets the IP53 ratings and has Gorilla Glass 6 protection.

So, we considered the POCO device to be better in the segment and provides a more premium build.

Display

• The POCO phone gets a 6.67inch Amoled panel with a tiny punch hole. So on, it is a Full HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The overall screen body ratio is 91% with a 360Hz touch response rate. The display also offers up to 1200nits brightness.
• The Poco X3 Pro also features the same 6.67inch Full HD+ display panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. Although, it gets the IPS to display with a 90% screen body ratio with a punch hole panel.

So, this section has been won by POCO X4 Pro providing a great visual experience too.

Camera

• The latest Poco X4 Pro comes with some upgrades over the last year’s X3 Pro. It has a 64MP primary sensor with an 8MP Ultra wide & 2MP macro sensor.  On the front, it gots a 16MP sensor for selfies & video calls.
• The Poco X3 Pro gets the 48MP sensor with 8MP ultrawide & 2MP depth, a 2MP macro sensor. On the front, it has a 20MP selfie sensor.

So we gathered the X4 Pro better in rear photography & X3 Pro for better selfies.

Battery

• The X3 Pro sports a 5160Mah battery. It gets the MI 33W sonic charging support.
• The X4 Pro has a 5000Mah battery. So on, you will get the 67W fast charging.

So, the X4 Pro won the battery comparison.

Processor

• In terms of Processor, Poco X3 Pro gets the flagship-level Snapdragon 860 chipset. It is a very powerful chip and has UFS 3.1 storage & LPDDR4X RAM. While it doesn’t come with 5G support yet.
• The latest launch Poco X4 Pro has Snapdragon 695 5G chipset. It gets the UFS 2.2 storage and is a mid-range chipset. But it gathers the 7 5G bands support additionally.

So, we considered the X4 Pro for providing 5G while the X3 Pro to be better in performance & Storage ratings.

UI & Others

Both phones are available with Android 11 out of the box. While the X4 Pro get MIUI 13 out of the box and X3 Pro gets MIUI 12.5 out of the box.

The X3 Pro gets the dedicated card slot. While both phones have WiFi 5, Bluetooth V5, GPS. Also, you will get Stereo speakers, a 3.5mm jack and side Mounted fingerprint scanner on both devices.

Conclusion

Although,  Poco X3 Pro was a great phone offering a flagship-level processor & UFS 3.1 storage. The X4 Pro launched doesn’t provide any flagship-level features available in X3 Pro. While at the same price, you can consider the X3 Pro if you do gaming as no phone even at 25K available with this chip.
