This week, Realme has launched the successor to the Realme 8i launch last year. REALME 9i offers some upgrades over Realme 8i while have done some degrades too. So, today in this post, we will see whether you should buy Realme 9i. Or you can go with Realme 8i still now.
Both devices cost up to ₹13,999 for the base 4GB/64GB variant while 6GB/128GB cost ₹15,999 under the hood. So at the same price, it will be interesting to know which device offers better Value for Money.
Realme 8i vs 9i: Display & Build
Both phones from Realme offers the same plastic panel with a glass front. While the Realme 9i looks similar to Realms GT2 Pro, the Realme8i has a glossy back with a square camera module. Both devices feel to be the same with 8.5mm thick & 194g weight as Realme 8i & Realme 9i has 190g weight & 8.4mm thickness. Additionally, you will a get similar side punch hole with a 90% screen body ratio on both devices.
There is also the same 6.6inch FHD+ display equipped in Both devices. While the Realme8i offers a 120Hz refresh rate, Realme 9i reduced it to 90Hz only. Additionally, Both device has the same 400ppi & 20:9 aspect ratio.
So, we have considered Realme 8i to be a winner in the display section with a slightly higher refresh rate.
Camera & Battery
Eventually, both device has the same triple rear setup with a 50MP main camera paired with 2MP depth & 2MP macro. Even though on the front, there is a 16MP selfie shooter on these devices.
For the battery, both devices have the same 5000MAh battery under the hood. While Realme 9i has 33W charging support. Realme8i stuck up with its 18W fast charging.
So, we considered Realme 9i to provide faster charging support at the moment.
Processor & Storage
Realme 9i offers Snapdragon 680 latest Processor with 6nm architecture. On the other hand, Realme 8i sports a gaming-oriented Helio G96 processor with a 12nm architecture.
Moreover, the Realme 9i may have around 30- 35% more battery savings but it is quite bad in Performance. The Helio G96 offers up to 40% performance improvement compared to SD 680. Even in Antutu V9, Helio G96 has around 340K scores while SD 680 4G while with only 230K scores.
Eventually, Both devices has been bound with LPDDR4X RAM & UFS 2.1 storage.
SO, we considered Realme 8i for better gaming & performance while Realme 9i offers some battery savings.
UI & Other Features
At present, Both devices are running Android-11 based Realme UI2.0. Eventually, Both device offers side-mounted fingerprint, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth, dual-band GPS.
Although, Realme 9i offers stereo speakers while 8i has one down-ported speaker. Similarly, there is a 3.5mm jack, dedicated microSD slot on both devices.
Realme 8i vs 9i: Conclusion
Since both devices have a similar price. It’s confusing which one to buy. So, we rather say that if you need faster charging & battery Savings, you should buy Realme 9i. While if you want better performance & smoother display, you should remain on Realme 8i or buy it.
