Realme’s new smartphone Realme GT2 is soon going to launch. So, it is the right time to compare it with its predecessor Realme GT.
So, we have created a comprehensive specifications comparison for the two phones to find out which is better.
Color & Build
Realme GT2 comes in four color variants : Paper White, Paper Green, Steel Black, Titanium Blue. It is 8.6 mm thick with a weight of 194.5 / 199.8 grams (depending on color). Dimensions : 162.9 x 75.8 x 8.6 mm.
Realme GT comes in three color variants : Gold/Black, Blue, Silver. It is 8.4 mm (Glass) / 9.1 mm (Leather) thick with a weight of 186 grams. Dimensions : 158.5 x 73.3 x 8.4 mm.
Color of a phone is a subjective matter but GT provides more color options.
Display
GT2 comes with 6.62″ FHD+ 120 Hz AMOLED display and comes with 85.7% Screen to Body ratio with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
While GT comes with 6.43″ FHD+ 120 Hz Super AMOLED display and comes with 85.9% Screen to Body.
GT2 is slightly better than GT in display department because of bigger display.
Processor
Both phones feature Qualcomm SM8350 Snapdragon 888 5G (5 nm) which is a octa core processor with a clock rate of 1800 – 2840 MHz and Adreno 660 GPU.
Camera
Realme GT2 will feature a triple back camera setup: 50MP main camera but the specifications of other cameras are currently unknown. It will feature a 16MP front camera.
Realme GT’s camera setup: 64MP+8MP+2MP back camera setup with 16MP front camera.
GT’s camera setup appears to be better than GT2 if we only consider the main camera. However, final conclusion can only be made when GT2’s full camera specs are revealed.
RAM & Storage
Both phones come in 128GB 8GB RAM, 256GB 8GB RAM, 256GB 12GB RAM variants with UFS 3.1 storage with no card slot.
Audio
GT2 will feature stereo speakers with no 3.5 mm jack.
While GT features stereo speakers with 3.5 mm jack.
Battery & Charging
GT2 will feature a massive 5000 mAh battery with 65W fast charging, 100% in 33 min (advertised) and USB-C.
While GT features a 4500 mAh battery with 65W fast charging, 100% in 35 min (advertised) and USB-C.
In this department, GT2 is the winner because of better battery capacity.
Other features
Realme GT2 will feature optical, under display fingerprint scanner and Android 12, Realme UI 3.0.
While Realme GT features optical, under display fingerprint scanner and Android 11, upgradable to Android 12, Realme UI 3.0.
Both are 5G enabled smartphones.
Price
Realme GT’s starting price is Rs. 33,990 while Realme GT2’s expected starting price is around Rs. 30,500.
Winner and Conclusion
It is quite clear that Realme has not done any major upgrade in Realme GT2. However, GT2 has slightly better battery and display than GT but GT’s main camera sensor is better than GT2. Rest of the specifications are almost similar. So, it all comes down to pricing and availability of both phones which will be clear when Realme GT2 releases in the market.
