Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G launched in India: Is the smartphone worth it?

Samsung recently launched Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G in India. Its specifications and price have been revealed. So, lets discuss its specifications and conclude if it is worth it or not.

Design and Color

The device comes in four variants : White, Graphite, Lavender, Olive. It is 7.9 mm thick with a weight of 177 grams. Dimensions : 155.7 x 74.5 x 7.9 mm.

Display

The device comes with 6.4″, 1080×2400 resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with HDR10+ and comes with 85.3% Screen to Body ratio. It will come with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection with Always on display.

Processor

Samsung will use two different processors for different regions: Version 1: Qualcomm SM8350 Snapdragon 888 5G (5 nm) which is an octa core processor with clockrate of 1800 – 2840 MHz and Adreno 660 GPU.

Version 2: Exynos 2100 (5 nm) which is an octa core processor with clockrate of 2200 – 2900 MHz and Mali-G78 MP14 GPU.

Camera

The phone features a triple camera setup like many other smartphones. It features a 12 MP+12 MP+ 8MP back camera setup with a 32 MP front camera.

Battery and Charging

The device features a 4500 mAh battery with 25W Fast charging, 50% in 30 min (advertised) and 15W Fast wireless charging. It also has Reverse wireless charging.

Audio

It comes with stereo speakers and no 3.5 mm jack.

Storage

Samsung Galaxy S21 FE comes in 128GB 6GB, 128GB 8GB RAM, 256GB 8GB RAM variants with no SD card slot.

Other features

Samsung Galaxy S21 FE features optical, under display fingerprint scanner and Android 12, One UI 4.

Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G’s starting price in India is Rs. 49,999.

Conclusion

Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G’s specifications like camera, processor, display etc are quite decent. However, the pricing of this phone is not very competitive. Smartphones like Xiaomi 12, iQOO 9 and Moto Edge X30 provide better specifications like better processor, camera, charging in this price range and these phones are soon going to launch in India.
