Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus (+) announced
Qualcomm earlier confirmed their event to be held on 20 May. We are almost confirmed that the company is launching a new mobile platform chipset at this event. It will be the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chip and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus.
The Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 will be Qualcomm 7 Series top processor and will be the next iteration of Snapdragon 778G Plus which earlier debuted to Motorola Edge 30. Apart from it, it will carry Cortex X cores for performance & 5nm architecture.
Apart from it, Qualcomm is also upgrading the current Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 which was the flagship of the current generation. As we already know that Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is built using Samsung 4nm process with a top-performing Cortex-X2 with 3Ghz frequency coupled with 3x Cortex A710 cores with 2.5GHz frequency with 4x battery efficient Cortex A510 cores.
Key Specifications of 8 Gen 1 Plus processor
The Upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus chipset seems to retain the same core setup. As always Qualcomm boosts the frequency in its Plus level chipset. Meanwhile, a Popular tipster Digital chat station has also confirmed on Weibo that it will be built using TSMC’4nm architecture.
Another key point is that @DCS also gives the specifications of the core setup accompanied with 1x Cortex-X2 at 3.2GHz with 3x Cortex-A710 at 2.75GHz and 4x Cortex A510 with 2.0GHz frequency.
We are also expecting that the company would provide better thermal efficiency for this point which was earlier an issue for many Flagship phones. Another thing is that TSMC’s architecture would also be paired with this chip which can host top-level performance.
Since the Antutu Scores with the 8 Gen 1 chip boasts 1050K as an average, we are expecting this upgraded model to get Antutu Scores beyond 1100K. Since this is what we all know for the time.
