Vivo ‘V’ series are selfie-oriented series. It is mostly famous for its selfie Cam and the innovation it does to the phone. This Year Vivo is launching its V23 Series as a successor of the V21 series launched earlier. Vivo has set a launch date for the 5th of January. Vivo V23 5G is a rebrand of Vivo S12, which had launched in China earlier.
The series will contain two phones: V23 & V23 Pro. Let’s see what new we will get on Vivo V23.
Vivo V23:Design & Display
Vivo V23 has been touted as “India’s First color changing Smartphone”. The very phone will come with a flat metal frame, which we have seen in iPhone 13 series. The phone is very slim with 7.4mm thickness and weighed 171grams. Very few 5G phones come weighed less than it. There is a glass back panel with color-changing ability. The bezels are very thin with a 92% screen-body ratio especially.
There is a 6.56 inch FHD+ AMOLED Curved 3d display in the V23 series. The display will be very bright with a peak brightness of 1300nits. The phone also has HDR10+ certification together with a refresh rate of 90Hz.
Vivo V23: Launch Date & Pricing
Vivo V23 will come in two amazing colors: Sunshine Gold & Gary Grey. Although, The color-changing ability is limited to Sunshine Gold only.
There would be three Variants of the phone: 8GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB, and 12GB/256GB. Although the expected price of the base variant is Rs34,999. Furthermore, Vivo is going to launch the phone on January 5.
Camera & Storage
‘V’ series is widely known for its amazing selfie. And this time also, Vivo has given a 50MP as the main selfie camera with an 8MP wide-angle camera at the front. At the back, Vivo V23 will feature a triple rear camera with a 64 MP main sensor with EIS at Video capture. The other sensor includes an 8MP(wide) and a 2MP( Depth) sensor. Another key point is it has dual led flash on both sides.
There is the latest UFS 3.1 type storage mounted on the device. The UFS 3.1 offers peak write speed of 2100mb/s altogether with 1200mb/s write speed.
Vivo V23: Processor, Battery & RAM
Vivo V23 features the latest Mediatek Dimensity 1200 5G processor based on a 6nm fabrication process. You can compare this process with SnapDragon 870. The Atutu Score goes high as 7lakhs.
This is a 5g processor with a 4.7Gbps peak down speed together with 2.5Gbps Upload speed.

Vivo V23 will have a 4200Mah battery together with Vivo 44W flash charge. The charger can Charge the battery from 0-100% in only 1Hour.
Vivo V23: UI with Other Specification
Vivo V23 has already launched in China as Vivo S12, the phone featured its China-only Origin Os Ocean. When the phone will launch globally, it will feature Android 11 based Funtouch OS.
Other key features of the phone include an under-display fingerprint, dual stereo speakers, and a Type-C port. Surprisingly there is neither a 3.5mm jack port nor an expandable card slot.
Conclusion
Vivo V23 will be an amazing phone at a 35K budget. But the phone has some mandatory Cons too-
- Big Notch: Although Vivo is providing a dual selfie camera with led flash. However There is a big notch which tends weird in 2022.
- LPDDR4X RAM: Another down point is its old-fashioned LPDDR4X RAM, many company has already provided LPDDR5 RAM at 25k price point.
- No 3.5mm jack port: Don’t know, Why the companies are removing the most favorite 3.5 mm jack from their latest phone causing the buyers to buy a costlier type-c earphones.
- No Expandable storage: Since there is no SD card slot, You can not increase storage additionally.
