One of the most impressive features of the Vivo X Fold 2 is its dual display. The external display measures 6.53 inches and boasts an FHD+ resolution of 2520 x 1080 pixels. The display has a 120Hz refresh rate and can reach a peak brightness of 1600 nits. The internal display, on the other hand, measures 8.03 inches and has a 2K+ resolution of 2160 x 1916 pixels. It also has a 120Hz refresh rate and can reach a peak brightness of 1800 nits. Both displays use Samsung’s E6 LTPO AMOLED technology, ensuring vibrant colors and deep blacks.
Under the hood, the Vivo X Fold 2 is powered by Qualcomm’s 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen2 SoC with Adreno 740 GPU. This is the world’s first foldable smartphone powered by this chipset, which promises lightning-fast performance and efficient power consumption. The device also has 12GB of LPDDR5x RAM, up to 8GB of RAM expansion via a virtual RAM option, and 256/512GB of UFS 4.0 storage.
The Vivo X Fold 2’s camera setup is equally impressive, with a 50MP (IMX866, OIS) Main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 12MP 2x telephoto lens. The camera also features Zeiss tuning and lens and a self-developed image chip V2, ensuring excellent image quality. The device also has a 3D ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner and face ID for added security.
The battery life on the Vivo X Fold 2 is also noteworthy, with a 4800mAh battery that supports 120W fast wired and 50W fast wireless charging. This is the world’s first foldable smartphone to support 120W fast wired charging, which means the device can be charged 100% in just 25 minutes via wired charging, and 40 minutes via wireless charging.
Other features of the Vivo X Fold 2 include a leather back and metal frame, dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and a USB Type-C 3.2 port. The device is around 6.2mm thin when unfolded and 13mm thick when folded, and weighs 280 grams.
Launch, Price, and Color
- The Vivo X Fold 2 is expected to launch in Mainland China at the end of April 2023, with a price tag of around CNY 10,000 to 12,000 (approximately INR 1,19,040 to 1,42,850).
- The device will be available in two color options, Grey and Red.
