Vivo gaming-oriented series named ‘iqoo’ has announced the iQoo 9 Series for India. However, iQoo played a tricky game and launch the IQoo 8(China) as iQoo 9 while Iqoo 9pro will be the same for India. Let’s see its confirmed specs and pricing together with the launch date.
iQoo 9 Series: Design & Display
iQoo 9 series designs are tuned by BMW motorsport company. Both phones feature a glass back with a metallic back. while there is the full rectangular cutout for the camera on IQoo 9 Pro, iQoo 9 will have a small camera cutout at the back. Moreover, iQoo 9 weighs around 200g & 9Pro weighs around 205g with a thickness of 8.6mm(iQoo 9) & 8.8mm(iQoo 9pro).
Moreover, the devices can be launched with a black & White( BMW branding) color variant. The screen body ratio varies around 90% with a punch-hole display.
Eventually, iQoo 9 offers a 6.56 inch FHD+ AMOLED display while the Pro comes with a QHD+ LPTO Amoled display under the hood. Both phones have HDR10+ Support with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The brightness goes beyond 1500nits with 398ppi on IQoo 9 & 518ppi on IQoo 9 Pro.
Processor, RAM & Storage
iQoo 9 sports an SD 888 5G processor while the 9 Pro features the latest Gen 1 processor under the hood. On paper, Gen 1 is 30% faster & 20% more battery efficient than the SD888. Eventually, Gen 1 comes with 4nm architecture compared to 5nm on SD 888. The Antutu goes high up to 8lacs on SD888 while SD Gen 1 scores an unbelievable 10lacs.
Moreover, iQoo 9 Series comes with LPDDR5 RAM & UFS 3.1 storage paired with a VC heat dissipation system too on these devices. On the other hand, there’s no slot for expandable storage.
iQoo 9 Series: UI, Camera
As the device was launched in China, it has Origin os based on A11(iQoo 9) & Android 12(iQoo 9 Pro). However, it will be replaced by Funtouch OS when launched in India.
For the camera, the IQoo provides a 50MP triple rear cam on both phones. Although, there’s is 50MP 150degree wide-angle with 16MP telephoto present on iQoo 9 Pro. Also, the IQoo 9pro has gimble OIS with 8k video recording capabilities.
The IQoo 9 has a 13MP wide-angle (120degrew) and 13MP telephoto camera present on the back. While on the front, there’s a 16MP selfie shooter on both devices.
Battery, Charging & Audio
There’s a 4350Mah battery on IQoo 9 while the pro features 4700Mah of battery. iQoo 9 Series offer 120W superfast charging. However, the IQoo 9 lacks the 50W charging support present on the iQoo 9 Pro. Also, the 9 Pro offers 10w reverse charging support too.
While for the audio, both devices comprise dual stereo speakers. However, iQoo 9 can give 24bit/192KHz output while 9pro has 32bit/384KHz support.
Extra features
Both devices come with dual-linear motors, NFC, dual-band GPS, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.2. furthermore, there’s an optical In-display fingerprint & face unlock for security purposes.

iQoo 9:
· 8GB/128GB 3,799 Yuan (around Rs 43,600)
· 12GB/256GB 4,199 Yuan (around Rs 48,200)
Although this device can be launched at some aggressive price too, this is a Chinese price.
iQoo 9 Pro:
- 8GB/256GB starts at ¥4,999 (₹58,200)
- 12GB/256GB costs ¥5,499 (₹64,200)
- 12GB/512GB at ¥5,999 (₹70,300)
iQoo 9 Series: Conclusion
iQoo 9 series are the flagship series from the Chinese smartphone company iQoo. This device combines the best display & processor in its range. However, the IQoo 9 is not the one that we want. Also, there are many more smartphones at that range promising some better features: GT 2 Pro, Xiaomi 12 Series at that price segment.
